Services :

1. Campus Service

Every new student is required to take a non-credit campus service and conduct service in public areas. During studying in NKFUST, students can develop good habits to keep the environment clean and contribute themselves to the group.

2. Student Discipline

Manage student’s rewards and punishments; establish an online leave-taking system and calculate student’s conduct scores.

3. Student Dormitory

Assist the Student Dorm Committee with the dorm management and activities. Also, be responsible for student’s dorm application, room allocation, checking of school property upon student’s leaving and general supervision.

4. Off - Campus Housing Service

Investigate and visit the off-campus housing regularly; request the related units to conduct the housing safety assessment and provide students with housing information and assessment result on the website.

5. Campus Safety

Set up Campus Security Center as a campus disaster management center to improve emergency response ability and provide emergency assistance. Also, promote road safety education and enforce campus traffic rules to improve road safety environment.

1. Regulations for Campus Service

(1)     The purpose of campus service is to help students develop good habits in life during their education at NKFUST. So, students will keep the environment clean and contribute themselves to the group and society.

(2)     Freshmen of 4-year day school, third-grade students of 2-year day school and transfer students are required to conduct campus service. The service is 2 hours (from 12:40 AM to 1:20 PM) per week and administered by Military Training Division and Student Counseling Division.

(3)     The group leaders of campus service should be selected or assigned by the instructors to be responsible for the areas of each department and institute, and by the military training instructors to be responsible for public areas. The candidates should be the students of higher grade with experiences and enthusiasm. They should be responsible for demonstration, guidance and evaluation of other members.

(4)     When students cannot attend campus service course, they should submit a leave application in written form to Military Training Division and Student Counseling Division.

(5)     An absent without asking for a leave or taking a day off without approval is considered an unexcused absence. The students who arrive late or leave early over than 5 minutes up to 3 times will be counted as an unexcused absence. Three points will be deducted from the average score for each unexcused absence; one point will be deducted for each casual leave but no points will be deducted for each official, sick and mourning leave.

(6)     Students whose average score of campus service is below 70 cannot apply for school part-time job, scholarship and cannot be nominated or selected as outstanding young representatives, student representative council and the member of the student organization. Besides, these students will be given advice and guidance by their instructors. For those who are sick and absent for more than one half of a semester and get grade of zero, they are not subject to this regulation.

Notes :

1.       Late three times is considered as an unexcused absence.

2.       If the student’s absent classes (total number of unexcused absence, casual, official and mourning leave) are more than one half of the whole semester’s class, the score is zero.

3.       Record the group’s performance. Students who never ask for a leave will be given score based on his/her performance, but are not necessarily given high scores or passed.

4.       After the score is reexamined by instructors or military training instructors (A maximum of 5 points can be added with reasons) and deducted by computer, the score is the semester score.For those whose leaves more than five times or score are not ideal, they can attend clean learning activity and get plus 1 to 4 points.

2. Student’s Awards and Punishment and Online Leave-taking System

(1) Conduct Score

The conduct score for student is 82, and can be added or deleted based on the following standards :

*Those who have fully attended during the whole semester are added 3 points.

a. Rewards

(1)     1 point for one commendation; 2.5 point for one merit; 7.5 point for one major merit.

(2)     deleted 1 point for one warning; deleted 2.5 point for one minor demerit; deleted 7.5 for one major demerit.

b. Ask for leave :

No point for sick leave; deleted 0.1 point for a casual leave.

c. Unexcused absence hours :

Deleted 0.3 point for each unexcused absence.

3. Student Dormitory

(1) Code of Conduct of the Student Dormitory

Article 1 ( Representatives for attending meeting)

All boarders should attend all dorm activities, new student orientation and disaster prevention. Any violation of Article 1 will be given a warning under no special circumstance. We assume no responsibility for any infringements of rights that may result.

Article 2 (Cleaning)

All boarders are arranged to take turns cleaning the floor by a dormitory administrator and should clean on time. Any violation of Article 2 will be punished with 1 violation point except for those who clean after being reminded.

Article 3 (Rules for Visitors)

Visitors should obey the following rules :

(1)     Visitors are only allowed to stay on the first floor or in the public area on the first basement floor.

(2)     On the first week of a semester, male visitors should change certificates and wear visitor permission when helping boarders with luggage; parents should change certificates with the companion of the boarder and only stay in the dorm within 10 minutes.Other reasons are not accepted to enter female dorm. After second week of a semester, no visitors are allowed to stay above the second floor of female dorm.

Article 4 (Visitor Violation and Punishment)

Visitors who violate the rules will be treated as trespassers and be regarded as major violations. Visitors will receive the same punishment as the boarder according to the NKFUST School Regulations.

Article 5 (Play Mahjong)

No playing mahjong or gambling is allowed in dormitory. If violated, a boarder and roommates will receive the same punishment according to the NKFUST School Regulations.

Article 6 (Smoking)

No smoking is allowed in dormitory for the sake of safety. Those who ignore repeated advices will receive 1 warning

Article 7 (Clatter loudly)

Clatter loudly is prohibited in the dormitory as not to affect other people studying or sleeping. Any violation of Article 7 will be punished with 1 violation point.

Article 8 (Rules for boarders)

(1)     Follow the regular time and maintain the room according to regulations.

(2)     Keep the room and environment clean. No stickers or posters on the walls are allowed.

(3)     Playing instrument is not allowed. When using radio or TV, turn down the volume.

(4)     No hanging of laundry is allowed except for the laundry yard.

(5)     All vehicles should be parked in the carport.

(6)     Cherish the public property and save water and electricity.

(7)     Each room and public area should be cleaned by the boarders in turn every week.

(8)     The housekeeping activity will be held each school year. All boarders should follow the rules for their rooms.

(9)     Only the notice of Student Dormitory Committee on the wall can be allowed.

Article 9 (Disposal of Waste)

All boarders should recycle and save energy. Non-recyclable waste should be dumped into the garbage truck.

Article 10 (The Use of Refrigerator)

Refrigerator is public property. Please maintain it in a good condition. Any personal items placed in the refrigerator should be marked with the owner’s name, room No. and date and only be placed for 3 days. For those items are not marked will be disposed as waste by a dormitory administrator. Boarders should be required to take turns cleaning the refrigerator.

Article 11 (No use of personal electrical appliances)

No use of electrical appliances (such as electric cookers, toasters, immersion heaters, induction cookers, electric kettles, refrigerators, juice extractors, electric irons and so on) are allowed in the room. Please follow this article for the sake of safety. Any violation of Article 11 will be given a warning. If needed, boarders can use electrical appliances upon the approval of Military Training Division.

Article 12 (Back up Key)

Borrowing a backup key should be less than 5 times a semester. Any violation of Article 12 will be given a warning.

Article 13 (Dorm Manager)

Ask a dorm manager to open the door is not allowed. Any violation of Article 13 will be given a warning.

Article 14 (Reading room)

Only reading is allowed in the reading room as not to affect others. First violation will be given an oral warning; repeated violation will be given a warning. For those who have conducted labor service for 8 hours, the violation record can be deleted.

Article 15 (Studying Center)

No using personal items or books to save a seat is allowed as not to affect others. First violation will be given an oral warning; repeated violation will be given a warning. For those who have conducted labor service for 8 hours, the violation record can be deleted.

Article 16 (Point System)

All boarders should observe the point system. For those who have a priority to apply for dormitory, if they violate the point system, their priority will be taken next semester.

Article 17 (Violation and Punishment)

3 violation points are equal to a warning. For those who have conducted labor service for 8 hours, the violation record can be deleted. 5 violation points are equal to a major violation. The violator will receive the punishment of NKFUST and cannot apply for dormitory anymore. Student who receives 3 warnings will be withdrawn from the dorm and the dormitory fee will not be refunded.

Article 18 ( Moving out the dorm)

Boarders who move out the dorm because of the end of semester or other reasons should clean the room and ask the administrator to check. Also, they should return the public property or they will be fined.

Article 19 (Damage Public Property)

If the public properties are damaged or lost, boarders should compensate for the price according to the regulations of Application Form for Leave.

Article 20 (Executing Unit)

Boarders who still violate the regulations after being advised will be sent to Military Training Division. 

Article 21 (Proposal for Revision)

Any revision of Code of Conduct of the Student Dormitory can be discussed in the meeting after cosigned by one-third of Student Dormitory Committee members or one-tenth or above of Student Dorm Committee members.

Article 22 (Resolution for Revision)

Any revision of Code of Conduct of the Student Dormitory should be approved by two-third of the Student Dormitory Committee and the Division of Student.

Article 23 (Bylaws)

Matters not provided for in Code of Conduct of the Student Dormitory shall be dealt with in accordance with NKFUST School Regulations and Regulations for Student Dormitory.

(2) Procedures of Dorm Application

b.     Current students can apply for dorm after joining the dorm point activity.

4. Off - Campus Housing Service

(1) Emphasis of housing evaluation

a.       MUST have the same entrance, door access control and lockset

b.       building or nearby parking lot MUST with lighting

c.       check the fire extinguisher

d.       check the water heater

e.       MUST have the fire alarm or smoke detector

f.        check the evacuation passage; see signs are clear or not

g.       whether students know evacuation passage and evacuation tips

5. Campus Safety

Note :

Please smoke in designated areas for the sake of public health. Students who do not observe will violate The Tobacco Hazards Prevention and Control Act and Reward and Punishment Policy and receive punishments.
